img_9719I thought about you all day today.  I wondered how many of you were joining with me in prayer.  I wondered if you cared about our country more than your normal activities.

It was beautiful here today.  I rode with my daughter to a friend’s birthday party.  We chatted and talked.  We discussed the election and we prayed for America.  I turned my face toward the window so my grand-daughter couldn’t see the tear running down my cheek.

I am determined to touch the throne of God for My America.  I hope that you are joined with me in prayer.

Yesterday, a very sweet friend of mine said she was praying but her body language showed defeat.

“Honey, do you believe that God can work a miracle in our country?”

“I believe in God.”

“I didn’t ask that.  Do you believe that God can work a miracle?”

She shuffled her feet, picked at her purse and stared at her car.  “I guess I do.  It’s just that Satan seems so powerful.  I don’t have the strength to fight that kind of evil.”

I put my arms around her and and gave her squeeze as I shook my head.  “I don’t know what your pastor is focusing on, but that kind of defeatist attitude is all Satan needs to win.  He doesn’t have to fight you. Your belief and your mind has already given the battle to him.  You run and hide.  Yet, God has told us that as a child of God no one has power over you – not even Satan.  Even if Satanic forces flowed into your house – you could send them running with the power that God has given you.”

My prayer for all of you today is that you will concentrate on the fact that as Christians we are “more than Conquerers” through Jesus Christ.  The battle has been won.  We have victory over Satan.

Soldiers of Christ stop retreating!  We can accept the power of God and no matter what our circumstances – we will be victorious!  No matter which way this goes, God will protect his people and he will help us.  Believing anything different goes against everything Christ stands for.  Do we still need to work?  Absolutely!  Do we still need to search for the truth?  Yes!  But in the end….God will prevail – period!

My grandmother used to tell me, “Debbie, buck up and be a tough soldier for Christ!”  I’m calling on all of you to Buck up and be a tough soldier for Christ!  How?  Do some of the following today.

  1. Get a bottle of olive oil (or any oil you have) and walk through your house.  Anoint every door and window.  Pray that anyone passing through the door will feel the power of God in their lives.  As you anoint windows and doors leading to the outside, pray like the children of Israel.  When the hand of death was to move through their land, they put blood on the doorways.  When death saw the blood it would pass over that home.  As you anoint your doorways, demand that Satan leave your house.  Claim it for God.  Make your home a safe place for God to teach you about his Will.

2.  Get the movie “War Room”. Watch it with your family!  It’s a great movie about the power of prayer.  It depicts the powerful kind of prayer we need!  I believe that if we get serious about praying for God to put “HIS CANDIDATE” into office – we will be in great shape.  WE have to understand that even if that candidate isn’t who we think it should be – that God may have a bigger purpose.  Maybe the person we think is wrong will cause such stress that Americans will turn back to God.  Salvation is always more important than anything else.

3.  Post powerful scriptures on your fridge and other places around the house.  Make it a game for each person in the family to read them.  Scriptures like:

Ephesians 6:12

“I acknowledge my struggle is not against flesh and blood. This battle isn’t about the physical issue I’m facing. It is against rulers, against powers, against the world forces of darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. This is where I will do battle Lord, and I will do it in prayer.”

Colossians 2:15

“According to Your word, Lord, my enemy has been disarmed and embarrassed. He has been overruled (Eph 1:20-22), mastered (Phil 2:9-11), rendered powerless (Heb 2:14) and his works have been destroyed (I John 3:8). I speak these truths into this stronghold in my life/family/loved one, Lord. I speak TRUTH where lies have prevailed.”

Ephesians 1:21

“Christ is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else, not only in this world but also in the world to come.” He is the Supreme One, not this stronghold, not the lies this stronghold has been erected on, not the enemy who has waged war against me. Christ is far above.”

4.  Find a prayer partner to keep you moving forward.

5.  Write your concerns down and take them before God.

6.  Chart your prayer time to make sure you are staying on track.

7.  Give God something to hold while you concentrate on your prayers.  Maybe it’s TV or music.  Maybe it’s sugar or that morning special coffee.  Whatever it is – ask God to keep your concentration strong by removing that from your life for a while.

8.  Square your shoulders at least four times a day and say, “I am a child of Almighty God.  He loves me and He will fight for me.  Satan has no power over me, my family or even the circumstances of my life.  God is in full control and I stand with the Powerful God of the Universe.”  Raise your hands with a shout of victory!!!

praying-girlDear Jesus, make us one in our prayers.  We give all the problems of our families, our churches and our country over to you.  We ask that you take those problems and fix them as only you can do.  We refuse to tell you how to do that.  We simply wait on your power, on your instruction and on your will.  Whatever you tell us to do – we will do to the best of our abilities.  Make us one.  Forgive us of our sins.  Convict us of sins we may not have acknowledged.  Please Jesus, heal our land.

God Bless America,

See you tomorrow.
